Setting up Autoresponder for Buttons

Options
Hey there!

We're working on a project that requires us to have an autoresponder sent to constituents who click on a certain button in the email.

We're trying to figure out if we can set up a "blind form submit" so users are submitting a blind form when they click, therefore triggering the form's autoresponder.

Are we headed in the right direction? Has anyone done this before?

Thanks for your help!

  • That's what I would do. A survey with a hidden field and visible submit button. (I don't think you can have a survey without any fields.) Would only work for logged-in users, of course.

    EDIT: Missed "In an EMAIL".

Can the AR send the next day? There is a way to make links add the user to an interest when clicked. Use that link - targeting a 'thanks' PB page - in your email, and then have a scheduled daily email target that interest. Just like a welcome series.

No fooling around with surveys and JS needed.
  • Hey Brian,

    Thanks for the feedback.

Let me take it back a little -- we don't plan to link the audience to a survey page. Is it possible to trigger an autoresponder without doing that? Basically, someone clicks a link in the email and that automatically triggers the autoresponder.

Thank you again for all your help -- still investigating the state personalization btw!

  • Brian,

That's awesome! Is there any documentation available on setting up links to add users to an interest group?
  • Probably, but its pretty self explanatory. Click the --Links-- menu when editing your email content. Find a good 'thanks for clicking' pagebuilder page, and choose 'OPTIONS'.

I think these are meant for "Get email about this topic" sort of links - but I've thought about using it for other things for ages.

What about a one-question "survey" right in an email?

Do you like new fundraising event concept ONE or TWO? You decide!

I do wish it could add/remove from just groups rather than a full interest. Should still work. Make them hidden interests if you actively use interests, so they aren't visible to users in their profile.

\\ You should. Email interests are great.
