Primary Contact's Info + Organizations Giving A Lot of Cash

Options
I've been tasked to pull a list of just organizations who, in the past two years, have donated over $1,000.

I used the following query in criteria:

Total amount of gifts greater than or equal to $1000.

AND Gift GL Post date between 9/19/2016 AND 9/19/2018

AND Gift type one of cash, pay-cash, stock/property (sold), pay-stock/property(sold), pay-other, recurring gift pay-cash

AND anonymous = no.

I get pretty much what I want.  HOWEVER, I was challenged to also include the primary contact for the organization and their phone number and email.  This is where I'm stumbling.

On Output I put down Contact Type, Email-Preferred Number and Preferred Phone Number.

What I get is a column that indicates what the contact type is, but I'm not getting a column that gives the primary contacts name.

I also get a blank preferred phone number column, but the email column has data in it.

What fields should I be using in output to pull primary contact name + their phone + their email?  Or should I have contact type = primary tucked somewhere in criteria?

In output where you selected type chose "Name" or "Last Name" and "First Name" fields
  • Hi Ron,

In the Output, you’ll want to also select:
Relationships / Contacts / Name (or “First Name” & “Last
    Name”).

Note: you may have some duplicates pop up in
your results if an Organization has more than one contact.

It may be necessary to create an Export for
this one.  With an Export you can choose to only have the
Primary Contact listed in the results.

    Hope this helps.

  • To quote the mantra, "Query is only a grouping tool.  Use Export to take your data out of Raiser's Edge."

I would actually prefer export in this case.  I find it easier to export relationship information from Export than to try to build it into the query.  If you do go this method, make sure you ask it to export more than 1 record if you're sorting by last date added or anything.  It needs to export a minimum of 2 in order to sort.  Don't ask why.  It's a weird RE thing!  LOL
