Phrase for setting a default date

Options
It has been a couple of years since I used RE. At that time, there was a phrase that I used when creating Load Defaults so that whatever the current date was, it would populate that date field.  Wording was something like set current date.  Does anyone still use (can we still use) this date trick?

  • You can still (in RE 7.96) use F5 to enter the current system date. We use it for most of our action defaults.
  • Thanks Alan. I had forgotten about F5. But there was a word phrase (something like set current date) that you could place in the Load Default From and Batch entries so it auto-loaded the current date.
  • For most date fields if you just leave it blank it will default to the current date, but I'm not aware of any magic word that does it.
  • Thanks John!
  • Pressing F5 will insert the words "current system date" into the field on the default, rather than an actual date, so perhaps that's what you were thinking of? I don't know whether it works if you just type "current system date" instead.
  • Alan - you have rocked my world!
  • Alan - thanks for clarifying that it adds the words. That is what I was looking for!

Thanks everyone. Love being back with the Blackbaud Community. Hope this post helps others.
