Gift Query Only Pull if it is First Gift

Hi All, 


I'm trying to create a Gift query in Raiser's Edge that pulls gifts only if it is the first gift.   If it is easier to do is not first gift that could work to.  Has anyone found a solution for this?

    Sarah, I would use a constituent query using summary info (bottom of criteria list) for number of gifts. You can add other gift filters like date or fund as needed.

     You could create a query of all of your donors and use an export to get their first gift information. In the export you can obtain the import ID of that gift. You can then cut and paste that list of gift import ID's into a gift query and you will have a query of only first gifts. I just tested it and it works.

    I think I am interpreting your question differently that another respondent, so perhaps this won't apply but...

    Are you looking for a query that will look through recent gifts and only select them if they are a first gift? In other words, are you looking for new donors? If so, you can do a query where the gift falls in the date range you are looking for AND there is only one gift (look in the Summary fields at the bottom of the query list, select "Number of Gifts" = 1).
