Shopping Cart Option

Right now we use the Online Express donation form embedded on our website for our donations, which is working great. We are looking at having a promotional item for sale but because we do not typically sell items on our website, we are not set up for it. Our website person will develop a store page on the website, but I was wondering if we would be able to use Blackbaud Merchant Services to process these payments and if so, what is the best way to go about it? I modified a donation form slightly to look like a purchase form but I am wondering if buyers will still get something that will act as a receipt for their purchase if I unchecked the "provide tax receipt" option when I modified the form.

It sounds like you did everything right! How did it work out? I was just going to say, as long as you don't have any messaging that has tax language, you should be all set!

Hi Bonnie,

It worked out great! We only used the form for a promotional item so I was able to modify the form and add quantities and dollar amounts for each quantity. I unchecked the "provide tax receipt" option so there is no tax language on the form or in the thank you email. I added a line on the confirmation screen asking the purchaser/donor to call the office if the shipping address is different from the billing address. If we had more than one product it would be problematic and I would definitely look into building an actual shopping page on our website, but for now, this has been a great solution.
