Custom Home Page

Options
Hi all--

We are wondering how many of you have customized the home page view for your users.

As always, the question is multi-layered...
  • Do you have a custom view?
    • If so, what are you displaying?
  • Are you tailoring this view by security role or constituency?
Would love to see examples/descriptions if you have them.

Thanks!

So I'm not even sure HOW to customize the home page.  That being said, I know we'd like to do it because we are building out a Fundraiser Dashboard that our executives would like to be put in front of the fundraisers when they log in.  Every time.

We allow our users to customize their home page if they wish. Only about 10% actually change what they see, but in our introductory training, we show them how to use the customize function on the home screen.

  • Julie,

We have not customized the Home page, but we
did create a new Functional Area which is where a user lands when
they login to CRM.  This “Welcome” functional area displays a
set of gauges that display high level fundraising progress, as well
as a few datalists that display other important information and
links.  Most of the work was done by creating a custom UI
model, if I’m not mistaken.  If you are interested, I can get
you in contact with the person on our team who was responsible for
    developing the solution.

    Travis,

How did you get them to go there when they log in, other than making sure the link goes to that functional area?  I suppose that would work except for everone that has the "home" page bookmarked already or comes in through the /bbappfx link (which we prefer not to even tell people about)

  • Hey Travis--

I would love the contact information.  We were trying to
figure out the best approach to getting folks the info they are
wanting to see right up front.

Travis: Is this something you might consider demoing at an upcoming PAG, or attach a screen shot? I think Wisconsin would also be interested in something like this. Thanks for considering.
