Most useful?
For RE users, which section is the most useful (relationships, notes, actions, etc.)? For me, notes and actions are critical to my prospect research, but relationships make it easy to see it in one screen.

It's so hard to choose! But when used properly detailed notes and actions make my heart sing.0

Notes and Actions I use for Prospects, Relationships are crucial for students/alumni where we record program they graduated, athletics teams they participated, honour societies they belong to etc. As well as, we use Fund Relationships to record scholarships students receive in each semester (academic year).0
-
I would say actions.

We have a weekly push report for all actions entered. I read through them all and pull pertinent info to put into the Notes section.0
-
Attributes is the most useful tab for me - it is where I keep all my segmentation information

I feel like actions would make the biggest impact on my organization and I'm working towards getting buy in!0

Event participation, modes of giving, dedication - it's all there for me.

Actions (when used correctly)0

It's a toss up between the three. I think they become most useful when used in conjunction with each other. Each stores a little bit of different information.0

I would have to say gifts because our org hasn't been the greatest historically at utilizing actions. I think if used, actions would be better but for now gifts basically tells us the most about the relationship the donor has with us.0

We spent a lot of time creating innovative ways to more easily get people into the right buckets.

Our Gift Officers record a lot in actions and help us plot donors in the pipeline. Especially for those initial qualification visits. We also use notes a lot for biographical sketches.

It can vary but I'd say it's the gift tab/giving history for us.0

I use all of them. Relationships section is good to relate individuals to organizations.

Actions is definitely the most important for our gift officers and fundraisers. As the Database Administrator, I find Relationships really helpful for linking records and understanding the information on the other tabs. I'm also with Amy Dana and JoAnn Strommen on the Gifts tab, too--I spend a lot of my time there.0

Actions is used mostly by our fundraisers. And notes is a great place for information that you won't necessarily need to "search for."

If you're talking about RE in general, I find myself in reports, to be the most useful tool in RE.

Hi Jayme,
I find if the notes are in the files then anyone can follow your actions, sometimes we aren't perfect with our use of the appropriate tabs but if its in the notes including images for bios etc your halfway right.

of the three mentioned: Actions, when there is buy-in and a guidelines for consistency. I find Notes frustrating because people dump critical information there and then don't also put it where it belongs (notes that contain relationships/actions/ even solicitation preferences) which makes reporting and analyzing donors an impossible task. But if no one is using actions, then Notes becomes a more critical section.0

Our Attributes tab desperately needs updating and cleaning up, but there are a few attributes that are essential for our payroll deduction gifts from employees. We're currently learning more about the other tabs, so it will be interesting to see if my answer changes in the future.
