Unable to create new group from E-Newsletter sign up survey

Options
I set up an e-newsletter sign up survey. It's straight forward - just first name, last name and email. http://support.ocean.org/site/Survey?ACTION_REQUIRED=URI_ACTION_USER_REQUESTS&SURVEY_ID=1361

Now, I'm trying to create a group based on everyone who responded to the survey. However, it seems as if LO only allows a group to be created if there are certain types of Survey Questions such as "yes/no", "true/false" etc. But I don't need to ask those questions. It doesn't allow me to set up a group using hidden survey questions either.

Help please!

    Hi Samantha,

Another option would be to use a Hidden Interest Question Type. With this question type, everyone who answers the survey will automatically be opted in to the interest. Using an interest instead of a group will allow your users to opt out of the interest at a later date.

Good point. Thanks! I have now incorporated it into the survey.

Just to add to the already mentioned solutions, if your survey was already live and you received responses, those people won't go into the group that you later assigned. You can always download the survey responses, delete everything except for their email address, and do a manual upload to your group.
