We are trying to gauge the effectiveness of our acquisition mailings. The first part is for me to get a pool of donors. I want to get all of the people that gave to one of these two appeals. Does my query look correct?

Also, I need to export their complete giving history. Basically, I want to see what else have they given after that appeal gift. I believe I should be doing a gift export. Is that correct?

For the query... Do you want the deceased in your pool?  If not, uncheck that box.

For the export...  I would still use a constituent export (I'm assuming the query was type Constituent) and choose the gifts, or Summary-Gift, to pull what I needed of their history.   I'll be interested to see what others with more experience in RE have to say.

Correct, this is a constituent query. I'll have to check our business rules on if we included deceased or not. Thanks Larry!

If you are looking for giving history, depending on what you want to see in your output, it might be better to take this query into a Constituent Giving History report within RE. That will cover all their gifts, unless you put criteria on it.

Tammie, I was not aware of this report. It's got some good info and gives the fund description. Could I change it to show the Appeal ID?

    Carlos,

If you go into tab 5, "Columns", you can add the appeal ID or Appeal Description. Make sure the criteria you used in the Query is also applied in the report. The report will NOT keep the same criteria that the query had. (Gift Date, gift type, etc.) I recommend going through each Tab to make sure you have all your ducks in a row before distributing the report.
