Problem exporting membership info

I am having problems getting membership information to populate in my exports in general. Specifically, right now I'm trying to export from a gift query and to show the membership status of the donors. I've pulled in current membership category and date added, etc., into the export, but nothing is showing in those columns when I run the export. The only solution I can thing of is to show all constituent codes instead. Why will membership information not show? I've had the same problem in a regular constituent query and constituent export.

    did you try using a membership export instead of a gift export.  You will need to change the query also.
