Importing Event Guests

Hi Everyone, 


We recently had a large event and we are looking to import Guests into constituent's records who are registered for the event. The thing is that we have constituents who are registered with the event, but for a majority of the guests we want to add, they are not RE constituents and we don't want them to be (because we dont have address/emails). Is there a way to import just Guest names into Constituent's event records without the guest also being a constituent? I've explored the imports a bit and everything I try makes me have an Import ID for the guest too, but they obviously won't have that since we aren't creating constituent records for them.

    You can link them as guests in the event and show up as guests of the constituent, but the guest participant records themselves won't appear on the constituent record (they aren't actually the constituent). I believe that you can change the columns in the Event grid to display number of guests, though. You definitely can add that column in the Event's Participant grid.


    Also, the Import ID referred to for guests in Events is for their Participant record. All participants have an import ID which is different from a constituent Import ID. When I'm importing constituents to an event and creating their Participant records, I usually create their Registrant Import ID as EventID-ConstID so that it's easier to match the guests to them later.
