GIFT LINK avaliable in Query

Has anyone asked blackbaud if Gift link will be avaliable in the query. When quering on Recurring gift pay cash it would nice to be able to have the Recurring gift it is linked to avaliable as well.

I haven't asked this question, but it is a very good one. From experience though I suspect that there isn't really an intelligent "link" - I think RE just checks "is there a recurring gift, if yes then ...."

E.g. if you are entering gifts manually, it will present you with the available options and ask you to choose, and then just copy the values over from the choice you have made. In Importacular, a recent change allows you to copy the values from an existing recurring gift, but you have to also give Importacular a rule, e.g. use the first gift that matches the criteria.

So I think also in a query RE wouldn't really know which of the recurring gifts should be associated with your payment, unless you can manage this through your criteria and recurring gift configuration.

RE definitely does keep a record of which payment goes with which recurring gift - it displays a list of linked gifts on the Transaction tab of the recurring gift record. Although this link isn't visible in either query or export, if you're self-hosted and have SQL Server then you can get access to this information.

I was also able to find the gift link when you go to Import - Recurring Gift Payment and create import file. This gives you the gift link as well but takes ome work outside of RE to figure out whihc RGPC it belongs too
