Incorrect receipt numbers issued to donors

Has anyone generated consolidated e-receipts and run into the error described in this knowledge base item? What it says basically is that if the process encounters any invalid e-mail addresses, the receipt number captured for all subsequent e-receipts gets recorded incorectly!! I am aware of one other org that has encountered this problem and I am about to upgrade this Friday and now am having second thoughts.


This affects RE 7.96 which BB is saying we have to upgrade to by March.

    OH NOES my office is about ready to start consolidated tax receipts, including e-receipts. Yikes.

    Hi Robert,


    Sorry this is late but we use RE7.96 and I encountered this when issuing the consolidated tax receipts by email. It's important to clean up emails beforehand to lessen the chances of this happening but came across an email ending in .me that RE didn't like (even though it was a valid email)... RE put that record into an exception batch but I guess it glitched while doing that and issued the same receipt number to the next 7 people ---- then it got back on track.


    Luckily it was only 7 records out of the 500 in that send batch.. and we sent out thousands more without any further issue..
