We have monthly donor through Convio and RE,  and using BBMS. I want to start to use Credit Card Updater. Can you tell your experience about using Credit Card Updater. please no vender's feedback. I need user's feedback.

    I'm interested in hearing what people have to say as we are thinking of moving to BBMS


    It was my understanding that the credit card updater was included, you only pay if they update or a $30/month whatever is more (something like that)


    Is it a service you have to turn on?

    I can’t speak to
    the RE part, since we just have Luminate, but the credit card
    updater has more than paid for itself every month for us.  It
    was easy to implement – the staff walked us through every step of
    the way.  They were helpful and courteous, even after it was
    ready for us to use.   It has made a huge difference in
    the retention.  We’ve been using it since 2015.  Since
    then, we had one donor complain because she thought her monthly
    gift would just stop when the card’s date expired.  But, we
    have nearly 900 monthly online donors, so 1 out of 900 in the last
    2 ? years isn’t bad.

    We use this service. Essentially, you don't have to pay for it unless there is a card updated. Yes, it is something you have to "turn on" with your blackbaud services rep. I would say it's definitely worth it. if you have a recurring donor who gives $15/month and her card gets updated, it pays for itself with two donations. Think about potential staff time hunting down card info, lost donation dollars, etc. There are more soft costs. They don't charge you if no cards are updated that month. It is basically the one service where I feel like Blackbaud doesn't nickel and dime you. ;)

    As a canada organization I found a lot of credit cards cannot be updated
