Mobile Payment Processing

Options
We are using IPads in events for registration as well as mobile payments. To our understanding, normally any credit card payment only takes 1-2 business days to transfer funds to our bank account, but we noticed that the payments processed through IPads always takes about 10 business days to transfer funds from this source to our accounts. Can anyone help how to speed up this process please? Thanks, Kassie

  • all of our payments are 7-10 days through BBPS
  • Thank you Jennifer.
  • It is typically 7-10 business days for BBMS payments. I've attached the 2018 disbursement schedule from the BBMS web portal here so you can know exactly when funds will hit your account from whatever the date of transaction is.

  • Does anyone know why other companies can deposit funds in  1-2 business days , like Chase, Global Payments, Square…..?  Cheers, Kassie

  • It's all about transaction volume, the percent of the transaction that is taken as a fee, and the overall business model of the company. Most companies charge a higher percentage (~3% is the average) than BBMS, which I believe charges 2.3%. Since BBMS charges less to its customer, they hold on to the money for a week and they're actually investing that money and earning a small % gain on it. Though you shouldn't think of it as them investing your specific dollars - it's more like there's a investment fund out there that is being fed by transactions and they pay out of it on a weekly basis. So by having a longer time period between investments, they can keep more of that money in their investment fund and earn more interest off of it. Companies that charge their customers more can pay out more quickly because they've already made the money their business model says they need to make to be sustainable.
