MAIL > Membership Cards: Some Members Omitted from Member Card Printing

In Raiser's Edge, we use the Membership Cards function within the Mail section to print membership cards for all our members. We run the process approx every 2 weeks. We've found that for each run, most (>95%) of the Memberships are identified and a card is printed without issue. However, there are members who's Join, Rejoin, or Renewal gets completely bypassed by the system.


As far as I am able to tell, the only two places where filtering might be set are not falsely excluding members who should be getting cards. Here is a screenshot of the General tab, showing we are looking at all constitutent / member records, and all dates.

And here is a screenshot of the Filters tab, where we have confirmed that the only filter set, that of Categories, accurately reflects the correct member categories we wish to include in the process.

No other filters or exclusions are defined. The problem is that some people are still getting excluded from this every-2-week process. We have members who have been skipped over for months now, and I am able to identify that these members have Joined, Rejoined, or Renewed and have a valid address and hold a membership with one of the defined categories. What can I check or change that might be excluding these people? How can I confirm that I'm including 100% of the members I want to send a card to?

    It may be caused by the field "number of cards to print" is set to zero.  The field is found inside the membership record, under "members & cards"

    You just need to change the # to print to 1

     
  • These folks being passed over aren't either flagged 'inactive' or 'has no valid address' are they? I see that those groups are excluded from your output.

    Or that the Address has the [Send Mail?] box unchecked?  There are, unfortunately, several ways that RE can think for you and try to "help" that really just cause confusion and frustration.


    I would put the Constituent IDs of the records you know should be included in a Query and then base your Parameters File on that Query.  Test various things until you perhaps stumble upon the one little tiny thing that is causing them to be excluded.  You might also try a new Parameters File to see if it's a default setting or something you've set at some point.
