Using Raiser's Edge in Project Management

in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT®: General Discussion
With all the amazing tools Raiser's Edge includes, does anyone know if it can be used for project managing?  I'm not looking for a Gantt chart, but I would like to see about creating projects, assigning tasks, monitering progress, and communicating all in RE.  Possible?

    Hi Beth

    You may be able to use the Volunteer module, assigning jobs and the like through that. I haven't had a lot of experience with this module, however, and I feel RE is not built for this purpose, so it would be a custom/ad hoc solution that may require a lot of tweaking and/or attributes and be more trouble than it's worth.

    This is exciting we are in the processing in moving to NXT and have unlocked the volunteer module this week. If someone is using it as Andrew has suggested I'd love to hear more.

    We use the event module for this. It's a little clunky, but we're able to set the projects up as an event and use event actions to assign and track project tasks. We have dashboards set up to monitor progress and have created some custom reports as well. I've also made a gannt chart template that can be populated using an export.
