Good morning all,


Does anyone have an import template to update home phones and e-mails they would be willing to share? Or a screenshot of how you have the fields set up in the import ? For some reason I keep getting an error and imagine I must not have set it up right. I have looked through a couple of knowledgebase articles and am at a loss.

    What product and version are you on (I'm assuming you are on Raiser's Edge but wanted to check - plus the version will make a difference)


    And silly question in your import do you have Update existing records checked as that could be part of the issue

    Thank you! This is a good start, I keep getting a wonky error, that when I view the fields page it goes a little funky. I may end up having to chat support becaused based on the article I do have it set up correctly.

    You might try Zeidman Development's Importacular.  It's free for Constituent & Gift Record Imports, and it should already appear in Plug-Ins if you are Hosted by BB.  (Otherwise, you can download and install.)  Just as with anything, test first before doing your entire list.  I have to say, I'm quite comfortable with Importing directly to RE, but I found that my first thought last time I needed to do an Import was to open Importacular.  (There is a slight learning curve...watch the videos and read the documentation, which isn't as daunting as it seems because much of it is specific to importing from particular sources.)

    What I do first is create an import file using the import module with the fields I want to see. That can sometimes help me find where I am making an error. You may also need (Phone) Import IDs for each phone number and Constituent IDs. Don't forget, they need to be unique, so I use something like CONCAT{ ConsID, -ph-cell } in the excel spreadsheet being imported.
