Rollback for specific changes

Options
Hello,

If I have an option to rollback specific update in constituent info? For example, if I know that 2 days ago the first name of the constituent was mistakenly changed if I have a way to undo this update?

Regards,

Inna

  • The only way I could think to do this would be a restore through a backup

As far as I know RE does not keep a log of ongoing changes to records

  • If there is any way to recover/correct the error without restoring a backup, I'd go that route.  You'll lose all changes to your db from the time you finish the restore back to the moment you are restoring to.

If you are Hosted, you can ask if a backup can be restored to a separate instance for just long enough to find the record in question and fix (manually) that one record in your current db, but I'm not sure whether this is possible or not.  If you have a Local Install, I know you can do this, because we did it at a previous org.  Our IT team set up the restored db on a stand-alone machine.  You just need to remember which db you're working in.

If this is something that happens frequently, I would look at Zeidman's Audit Trail product.  I've never used it, but it looks like this would have easily solved your issue.  Unfortunately, I think it only works from the point you install/activate the product.  =(
