  • I use engagement factors to count the number of email opens and the number of emails received within 6 months. I then run "disengagement" queries to identify everyone who has received at least 3 emails in the last 6 months, but has not opened any.

I've got a couple of segmentation groups based on how recently someone got an email. I use those to break up large sends, so that nobody is getting hit with 3-4 emails in less than a couple days.

I've also got ones to catch anyone who has logged into LO, anyone who has opend an email, anyone who has clicked an email link, and a "weighted actions" score that combines things like donations, registrations, email opens, etc. We use those less frequently, but it's helpful when I've got a big send to front-load the recipients who are most likely to open. Makes email providers less likely to flag the message as junk/promo/spam.
