Appeal Linking

Good morning and Happy Halloween fellow RE users!

Quick question about appeals. When appeals are imported from a large mailing file it doesn't seem that the appeal links when entering a gift for the same appeal. However when I "globally add" the appeal and add a gift from the appeal there doesn't seem to be a problem. Is there a disconnect when the appeals are imported? Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you importing using ImportOMatic or some other tool or just the RE Import function?

I've never had this issue and use the Import function frequently when putting appeals on records

By linking I'm assuming what you mean is when you put a gift on the record, selecting that appeal, in the appeal tab you can see a gift was made to that appeal with the appeal date it was mailed out on

Are you also using Packages? If the Gift Appeal and Constituent Assigned Appeal don't match with both the Appeal AND Package, the gift amount won't be indicated in the Total Given field.

Just the standard RE import tool, and yes that is what I mean

Ah hah yes we do use packages, very likely the culprit here. Thank you!
