Is there a report that shows what were the outstanding pledges on a particualar date?


Example:  Trying to compare last year ytd vs this year ytd.


Easy to know what this year's ytd outstanding pledges are.  Anyway to know what they were at this time last year?

    I can think of one way, but it is by no means 100% accurate. It will only give you a rough guesstimate.


    Build a Gift Query with the criteria:


    Gift Type one of Pledge, MG Pledge

    Gift Date between 7/1/16 and <today's date 1 year ago>


    In the Output tab include both the Gift Date and the Last Payment Made.


    If a Pledge or MG Gift Date is before <today's date one year ago>, but the Last Payment Made was greater than <today's date one year ago>, part or all of the pledge was outstanding on <today's date one year ago>.


    Just to reiterate, this is a hack and will not give you 100% accurate results.

    I work with an organization that does regular reporting to compare how Receivables are doing this year compared to last year.  The process they use involves static queries created each month, and the report compares data from this month's query and the same month's query from one year prior.  But this only works when you save those static queries every month for a year before you start reporting.  (And hoping no one ever deletes them!)


    I think Aaron's suggestion is likely your best option.  But you might consider saving a static query next week (on 01 Nov for "as of 31 Oct 2017") in case you decide to start something similar in the future.
