Does Luminate Online integrate with BBCRM?

Options
I'm trying to find more information about whether Luminate Online provides integration with Blackbaud's own CRM, BBCRM. My org currently uses BBIS, but LO has greater functionality than BBIS and it appears to get much more developer attention and support.

Our primary concern is whether BBCRM is able to record actions taken by a constituent directly to the constituent record.

    Hi Blake,

There is a LO-CRM Integration Solution. It is a bi-directional, API-based data transfer broken up into different 'sync processes,' where each sync sends a particular type of data (i.e. constituent information, event registrations).

You should speak to your sales rep. for more information.

    Best,

    Hi Blake,

We use LO and BBCRM and the connector the moved info between them. As Erik referenced, it is an API-based process. CRM reaches into LO using LO's APIs and pulls and pushes info back and forth between the systems.

The process is very good at moving constituent info between the systems, and also moves key info like gifts, registrations, miscellaneous questions responses (which LO calls "surveys")  from LO into CRM. It is very complex to setup, though, and we are still implementing and refining parts of it to make the process run smoothly.

    Hi Frank,

Would you be willing to provide me with inforamtion on your challenges with implementation?  Our university is a current LO user and have been for approximately 10 years.  Integration between LO and CRM is part of the CRM product and as such, want the integration to be as successful as possible.  Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Lorraine

  • Ditto with our organization - we use the LO-CRM Integration and have so for several years. The process runs relatively smoothly but making any adjustments is a headache as it requires our reaching out to DMS to enact those functions / fields, assuming compatible with existing BBCRM setup. Make sure you have everything mapped out beforehand and plan ahead what could be expanding possibilities, heaven knows we're adding data fields ad hoc and it gets profoundly more difficult as time goes on and people move on to other projects. Oh, yeah, and make sure EVERYTHING is documented. We've had people move on in the past and left little or no custodial documentation. Very fun.

    Hi Blake!

As Americares mentioned, the LO-Connector from Blackbaud does tend to grow, and become more complex over time. I have also experienced organizations who have had trouble with data integrity (Country table in CRM does not equate to the Country table in LO, so address matching or address imports fail, for example). I would be happy to introduce you to some other organizations who have been using the LO Connector for a while, so that you can understand their perspectives as well.

Let me know if you would like some introductions!
