Tracking Departmental Credit

Options
Hello,

We are currently using a combination of Appeal Category and gift subtype to track which department may have been responsible for bringing the gift in. Are there other organizations out there that track departmental credit in Raiser's Edge against gifts. What are you using?

Are you using the Gift Solicitor for anything? You could make the departments a Constituent and give them credit that way, or give individual Solicitors credit and then set up Queries to group each individual by department.

  • I will check. That helps. Thanks for the
    suggestion.

If you always track departmental credit for cultivating a gifts I would suggest having a record for each department and making that record a Solicitor, then when there is a gift, it can feed that department/soliictor into the gift ... also into Actions and so on.
  • We currently do not track departmental credit, but I would do it the solicitor method way that Amy and Christine have spelled out here.  Good stuff, ladies!
