Using Raiser's Edge, I'm looking for an easy way to create a spreadsheet that would show a broad view of our funding this year:

-total amount raised this year

-amount raised through events

-amount raised through grants

-amount raised through donations/contributions

-other

These categories are separated by fund, so I don't think I would have to go and pick each appeal for each event, but would need a breakdown of the funds. 


I also want to look at a breakdown of how we received the donation- if it was cash/check or online. We use PayPal and Authorize.net, and technically if someone were to call me with their credit card information to make a donation, it would go through Authorize.net, so I don't think I would get exact data, but I'm looking for something to show how much of the donations we have received online vs. not. In this case it may be credit card v. not.

    Try the Gift Detail and summary report. On the last Tab (Format) under detail, you can choose to summarize by Fund. Not sure if you can give out the payment type right from there, but you can click on create a gift output query with  your results (tab 1).

    If you are at all handy with Excel, I would export the gifts to an Excel spreadsheet and use a pivot table to categorize the gifts in whichever ways you would like.

    Fund Comparison Summary Report will give you total $$ in each fund from Year to year (you set the dates - so month to month if you want).
