Upcoming Gift Aid changes in September 2017

HMRC are updating their endpoints that we use for gift aid submissions. On September 18th these changes will take effect. For all organisations on version 7.96 patch 4 or higher for the Raiser's Edge, if the steps below are not completed the gift aid submission functionality will not be able to be used:

On September the 1st any organisations that are on version 7.96 patch 4 or higher will need to download and register the AdminData7.dll. If this is not completed then gift aid submission functionality will not be able to be used until September the 18th.

For organisations that have the Raiser's Edge hosted by Blackbaud, these steps have been completed and no further action is required.

Has this information been sent to anyone else prior to this post? 1st September is 3 days away. You would think that there would be a big marketing campaign to update everybody! I am sure that there will be people who do not see this post and do use the functionality between the 1st and the 8th. Also after the 8th this means that you have to be on v7.96 patch 4 or higher in order to submit a GiftAid claim. This does not give users much time to test their upgrades either...

Hi David, I have updated this post. The HMRC are still allowing connections to their current end point until such times they fully switch over to the new endpoint which will allow all users on version 7.96 patch 3 and before to continue to submit the gift aid submissions via the Raiser's Edge. This now only relates to organisations on version 7.96 patch 4 and above who will need to install the dll file in order to use this over the period of 1st September to 18th September. Thanks Chris.
