Pledge Reminders

Hi, we have had basically the same Raiser's Edge pledge reminder template the entire 14 years I have been at the SRF.  Our Board Chair and ED want to make it look nicer...more inviting.  Would anyone be willing to share with me what their pledge reminders look like.

    I would say ours have been the same for quite a few years also. I'm attaching our 'billing letterhead'. We just created our own patterned loosely after some BB's forms. Our exec wanted specific fields regarding the pledge, paid, balance.


    We use this form for all our billings with text thanking them for making pledge, as of this date below is what we show regarding your pledge, please send payment by, questions contact, exec's signature. Sometimes we also add line about this is the pledge you made to Sue Jones, campaign volunteer.


    Nothing really special in my opinion.
  • I modeled ours after JoAnn's back in April.  (Thanks, JoAnn!) wink Our old reminder looked like a bill and had no letter body, so it was definitely not very "friendly". I liked the curved box format on the cutoff that JoAnn shared, so I borrowed it. Our original reminder had all the same fields plus a few extra -- pledge total, amount paid, pledge balance, amount due, Fund designation, due date, Appeal designation -- which I kept in the tear-off section. I use a word formula for the due date and letter date, and I print on a perforated letterhead. I added a box for permission to process future payments automatically. The only thing that needs tweaked occasionally is the Fund, if it's not written in "donor lingo".
  • Faith...depending on how you run your reminders and whether Fund Attributes are available fields, you can put your donor-friendly wording on the Fund Record as an attribute.  Thus saving you from that manual editing.  (I did this for gift acknowledgement letters and a report at my last org.)

    Thank you for sharing!  I'm also trying to create an invoice billing form, as a first-timer this is a learning curve for me. Is this template form something that can be generated within RE with all the logos and tables and eventually merge pledge information. Or is this billing form seperate and I merge the fields like total pledge, total paid, etc onto the template form?

    RE now does have capability to insert logo into a Word merge document. I have not tried to that yet. Might be fun to try. Ours is just the letter and fields merged onto a pre-printed letterhead type document.
