We are in the public phase of a capital campaign and at our luncheon this year we are asking everyone to double their donation with half going to general operating and the other half going to the capital campaign. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this.


I’m curious as to how you would put this on a pledge card and how you would enter the gifts in Raiser’s Edge (we do not split gifts). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    We are in a campaign with multiple asks for multiple year pledges.  The form we are using at this point has a table with years (Year 1 / Year 2...) across the top and fund down the left side (Capital / Annual Campaign / Endowment) with row and columns at right and bottom for totals.

    Other text on form ask for start date/frequency/pay method...

    If I had to get it down to card size, I'd not edit out year columns and just have check boxes for # of years, probably.


    All the gifts are entered into RE for the appropriate fund (we don't use split gifts either) with their payment schedule. We are using an appeal (happens to be abreviated name of capital campaign) to identify these gifts. Gives me something easy to filter on if I need gifts to all funds or gifts that are part of our annual campaign due to this ask. You could use gift code, gift sub-type or an attribute.
