Sending daily automated emails

We are looking for ways to send autogenerated, daily birthday emails that we don't have to set up individual emails per day...if that makes sense.  We have Online Express but I don't think that product can do it, nor do I think that Raiser's Edge has the capacity.  I want to set it up once and have it created and sent automatically every day.  Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    This is possible, but only with a LOT of set-up work on your part because of how OLX works. Basically, you would have to create a different email for every day you want to send out the birthday notices, possibly with a different query for each one (set up as "Birth Date = this specific day" - we're not on OLX at my new org yet, and I don't recall if queries update right before OLX sends the email, in which case you could set up a "Birth Date = Today" query and leave it). But I am certain about the first part. Each email would have to have its own set-up. So yes, this is doable, but it's rather unweildy.

    OLX updates the Query when you click [Send] OR when you schedule the email to be sent at a later date.  At least, that's how it worked as of November 2016.


    Found this out the hard way.  At my last org, we scheduled an email to send in two days, giving me time to finish some data entry that was adding constituents to the list.  The new records showed up in the Query, but when the OLX Message was sent, it didn't go to those records.  Had we waited to schedule the email, or just sent it manually, we'd have been good.
