cleaning up default sets for Actions

Options
My organization has a long history of using Raiser's Edge, and over the many years we've accumulated a lot of "opportunities" for cleanup of various fields. Right now, I'm trying to target some clean up of our Action default sets, so development staff can more easily find and use the ones that are current and applicable. We have approximately 220 default sets for actions, which is entirely too unwieldy. I'm guessing that most were created for a specific one-time purpose, and are not evergreen. Because many staff over many years created these, and there wasn't any consistency in naming these, its a big jumbled mess.

Before I start deleting them blindly, I'm wondering if anyone has run across how to report on these? Or perhaps there's a clever way to run a query that would show which default sets have been used recently?

Thanks,

Sara

  • I like Jen's approach a lot! I'm doing something similar right now, but we only have 35 sets. I just sent an email with a complete list and had people respond with a list of exactly the ones they use.
