RNL - doing segmentation out of CRM

Options
OSU is currently a masters client with RNL and they did all of the segmentation within Campus Call - we are switching to doing our own segmentation -- does anyone use RNL and do the segmentation outside of Campus Call using DM within CRM or other methods?

  • Julie,

Yes, we are a non-master site RNL CampusCall
customer and are doing our segmentation within Blackbaud CRM.
I’d be happy to connect you with our team in Operations that
maintains it, or directly with our phonathon director.

Julie, we are an RNL masters client and do our own segmentation with CRM using DM within CRM. We activate the DM on the CRM side a pass the finder number to help with the tracking. If you want, I can set up a call with our group which handle the RNL functionality. In addition, we are in the process of automating as much of the changes they receive as possible for both revenue and biographical updates.

  • At Iowa, we previously sent files of CRM data to RNL and had them do the segmentation, we also provided blocks of finder numbers to RNL, then received files back with the constituent ID and finder number they assigned. We then imported the data back into DM to get the Appeal/source codes assigned to records in CRM. We stopped doing it this way - it did not work well for us. Now, we do the segmentation ourselves. We are an RNL Masters Customer. Julie, if it would be helpful, I could put you in touch with our Annual Giving leader, who could tell you more about this.
