Editing Form in Headings and Default Fields

Options
Rather than the default of "other," I'm looking for a way to make the Online Express donation form say something along the lines of "Select here to designate that your gift goes to a specific program." How can I do that?

Also, we would like to edit the text under Tribute Gift to delete an unneeded comma in the field for "This gift is in honor, memory, or support of someone." Please explain how we do that. Thank you!

  • Actually, the second comma (called an Oxford comma) is correct in proper, traditional grammar. Many people omit the last comma in newspaper, media, and informal communications, and the prolificness of people omitting the comma has led it to become accepted usage since the 90s. So, don't feel bad about leaving it in, because you'll just sound extra professional. :)

Apart from that, I'm afraid I don't think there is a way to change those fields. They're built in. Unless BB Support has a way to work around it....

Hi Connie - I was an English major before I switched to Mass Comm - PR & Journalism, so we are aware that it is correct in that sense. However, we use AP style for all of our communications, so that is why I have the push to change it.

The bigger issue is the Other field. Hoping there is something we can do on the back end.

    Thank you.

I understand AP style. It would certainly be nice to be able to add some text/instructions between the gift fields. I have often thought it would be nice if we could add a line of special instructions before the Comments box, for instance, to instruct donors to write in a memorial name if your BB subscription lacks the Tribute feature. Perhaps that is something BB could add as an improvement in future updates.
  • You can actually edit this field under the "Fine Tuning" tab. Just click on the sentence and a edit label tab will pop up.

Is there a way to edit the word "other" in the drop down box? I'm setting up my first form and this is something I've had other staff ask me to change.
