Does anyone use NetCommunity for Online Event Registrations with Raiser's Edge? Do you find that it easily integrates into Raiser's Edge?

I used NetCommunity with RE at my previous position.

IMHO the only thing it had going for it was the integration with RE, besides that it was an inferior product (now this is five years ago and perhaps they have made improvements).

By inferior I mean if you are trying to use it to develop web pages and/or email campaigns and want any type of design it is very challenging as the editor adds a bunch of code that you can't see and usually messes up the design.

It also had issues getting through SPAM filters so a high percentage of the emails would not go through.
  • Sharon,

I used NetCommunity last year to create an event page for a summer camp run at our College each year. While it is pretty archaic and otherwise not user friendly it did allow me to setup two registration pages that worked for us. This is something I was unable to do in Online Express which was a bit frustrating. We ended up using EventBrite this year due to the functionality and the abiilty issue refunds much easier.

The integration in NetCommunity with RE works fine, but the backend building of each individual event takes some time. Again, this all depends on how many events your having. We held around 30 camps over a 2 month period.

If you have specific questions I'd be happy to help.

  • John,

Thanks for the info, I will look into Event Brite now.

  • I currently use NetCommunity for event registrations, and I find that it is the same level of ease/frustration as bring donations over to RE that are not associated with events.  If you want to chat in more details, happy to reach out.

  •  Heather,

    We want to make sure
the credit cards and registrations goes through Net Community
properly. Do you need to use Blackbaud Merchant with Net
    Community?
