Tracking Event RSVPs

For starters, let me say that we do NOT have the event module for RE. (Wish we did!) However, I've been asked if we have the ability to send out an email to selected constituents as an event invitiation where there could be buttons at the bottom of the invitation for them to indicate "Yes" or "No" whether they are attending.

Any thoughts without the event module on a poor man's solution to achieve the above? Create a NetCommunity survey that links to the buttons? Create a NetCommunity Profile update form with an attribute that tracks attendance? Something else altogether?

I think you should investigate this method: Create a fillable form PDF with all the info you want to gather on it, then upload it to NetCommunity as a document. Have your email link to that PDF, which has a submit button on it. When they fill it out, and click submit, it will send it self to whatever email you specify. Our marketing person in my office here uses this method for in-kind donation forms that we put onto NetCommunity. I can link you together with her if you'd like to go further down this pathway.

What I'd do then to track it in RE - use an Attribute.
