Tracking attendance at Alumni events

Hey BB family!  I'm very new to BB and the craft of advancement and alumni relations.


I'm trying to track within RE7 those constituents that attended recent Alumni & Friends events and add new constituents that attended as well.


I'm having trouble setting up an Event.  Is this a specific module that I don't have?  Is there a better way to query the database to track those who attended an event?

    Welcome!  


    Two ways to see whether you have the events module:

    1. Open any constituent record and look for the "Events" tab; or

    2. Go to Records and see if there's an "Events" option in the Records menu.  


    If you have the Events module, click on it from the Records page and you'll see the option to add a new event.  There's a user guide here: https://www.blackbaud.com/files/support/guides/re7/evntdata.pdf.  


    We just began using it for a few events held in the spring.   You can query on any of the event fields.  There's also a screen in which you can easily mark which invitees attended.  Good luck!

    Yes - Events is a module that has to be purchased as an addition to the base structure that is RE.  If you do not have it -- another place you can track attendance is in Actions.  I do that with our Alum events.  The Action Category is the name of the Event, the Action Date is the Event Date and you can use either an Action Attribute(s) or set up a note as the Invited, RSVPed, Declined, Attended.
