I am a new admin. Does any one know how I can see my assistants queries on my RE?

  • On the query main screen there's a small check box at the bottom "only show my queries". Is that checked?  As best I know, if that is not checked you should be able to see them.

Another piece is depending on the settings the user checked when creating the query, you could be unable to run and/or modify the query. For some complex queries, I use the check box that others can not modify it.

  • JoAnn - Just a mention that if you've restricted access to your queries and you are for some reason unavailable and someone else needs to step in (or you leave your organization), this can be a problem with someone trying to take over?
    • We've experienced that here with employees leaving,
    • As supervisor, I have to review all the queries they've created, find the ones they've restricted and check to make them available.
Anyone else run into this issue?
  • And if you click on the Created by column it will sort by user so you can find all the queries created by each person
  • Or an outside chance that possibly their queries are in other Query Categories and you need to click into those?

Gina, the way around this at my org is that we always leave the box checked for others to be able to run the query, even if the make changes one is unchecked.  That way, someone can still go in and get the query control report in order to recreate it or recreate and make changes.  I've bumped into the hurdle that you mention above in a former life, so am very happy with how it is now.
