Recurring Gifts for Pledges

Katy, unfortunately you cannot apply a recurring gift pay-cash to a pledge.  I had this same situation last week, a board member set up a recurring gift online to pay off her pledge, and I had to write-off the pledge.  Here's the Knowledgebase article https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/59257

Suggestions like this should be in the RE7 Idea Bank!  Search to see if the Idea has already been submitted...if it has, vote for it and add a comment if you have something to add to what has been posted.  If it hasn't, then add it!  And always come back and post a link directly to the Ideas that you find, so others can easily go add votes.

According to this Idea, you can convert a Pledge to a Recurring Gift.  Not sure if that would help you...it would depend on reporting and how your Finance Department books pledges.  In my experience, pledges are booked & counted at the time the pledge is made and recurring gift payments are treated as cash gifts (because there is usually not an end date or total amount, and the donor isn't really committing to a specific timeframe or amount).
