Include a check box for interest in materials

Hello!


.... a check box on the donation site asking if the donor wishes to receive materials about planned giving.  I've been in touch with Blackbaud and their solution is to create gift attributes with the phrasing I want and have that be where people indicate their interest....

Are you sure they said Gift Attributes and not Participant Attributes? If this relates to OLX, you should be using Participant Attributes. On your side menu, go to "Config" then click "Attributes" and select Participant. Add a description for your attribute (I suggest making it vague so it can be reused mutliple times) such as "Yes/No Question". In Data Type, you can create your own custom table of drop down options (made through the Config > Tables area) or in this case you can just choose Yes/No. When using the Yes/No data type, make sure you select "Allow 1 per record" or it may not display. 


Then go to your OLX event Page, click Field Options and add your participant attributes there.

The "Display Name" lets you customize what you're asking.


Under "Fine Tuning" click the "Event Details" tab to preview this information. 


If theres an issue with the way its displaying on your webpage, then you may need to look into how your webpage CSS is affecting the form as the form will inherit many style options from your page. It's not a check box, but it serves the same function.

Thanks for your help.  It appears you’re working in an event sheet and I was working in a donation sheet, so the mechanics are a little different.  I’ve solved the problem for the time being, and am hoping it continues to work.  I appreciate your input in trying to help me figure this out!
