We just ended our 'Planning Events in Online Express' webinar- another great session with some good questions! We did have one question that we weren't able to address, so I'll be posting that below. Jane Leaver asked:

"How can we link the person registering to an Org account if they do not have an INd record in RE without adding them as a constituent?"

    From my understanding of Raisers Edge: OLX automatically creates a constituent record when there is a regsistration is available online, even if the fee is $0.

    You can manually add a list of guests under organizations in the event module. In the past, I've tiered sponsorships usually limiting the actual Registrant to a single primary business contact, then limiting that business contact to X amount of guests. However, you can add all of guests under Registrant; and then say that those registrants are further allowed to bring 1 or more additional guests if desired.

    This is my understanding of the Event Module:

    Neither the Sponsor, Registrant, or Guest need to have constituent records to be added to the Event module. However, again to emphasize if there is ever a monetary gift or gift in kind associated with the sponsor, registrant or guest, (even if a $0 fee from online registration) a consituent record is created - as it is needed to record that gift... and so the record AND gift should be linked in the event module.
