Tracking in the Appeals tab

Options
We used NetCommunity for email marketing until recently when we moved to OLX. With NetCommunity, the emails received by constituents and their responses were recorded on a separate Tab (called NetCommunity) on the Constituent Record. We currently use the Appeals tab for tracking Direct Mail and I am concerned that adding the OLX emails to the same Tab are going to add confusion. Any suggestions on maintaining clarity between Direct Mail Appeals and EMail appeals/informational emails? Is it possible to just add the data to a different Tab on the Constituent Record?

  • You can use Appeal Category (on the Appeal Record) to indicate if it's OLX or direct mail.  It's pretty obvious, because OLX sets the Appeal ID and it will start with "BBOX" plus, the actual email address used will appear in the Comments field on the Appeals Tab (I think it's Comment...one of those fields).  If you would rather see OLX messages elsewhere, you would need to do a Global Add or an Export/Import to move that data to where you want it, then you can delete the Appeal Tags.

In addition the OLX email ID, is there a way to add the Email Name? For now, I just click the bincolurs to find out the name of the email. Is there an eaiser way?

  • I'm not sure what you mean by Email Name?  The Appeal Description (when you create the Appeal Record using the [Add This Data To RE] button) is the email's subject line and date sent.  Is that what you're looking for?

Anything on the Appeal Record can be edited after the initial creation except for the Appeal ID.  If you edit the Appeal ID, and then push data over from OLX again, a second Appeal will be added to RE.  (It is possible to clean this up with Global Delete if you do this on accident, but best to be aware and not create a mess on accident.)

Right- I'm sorry for the confusion! yes, publish the subject line. Is there a way to autopopulate that infomormation with 'Add this Data to RE'?

    Thank you!

  • If you are seeing the Appeal ID rather than the Appeal Description on the Constituent Record Appeals Tab, change your User Options as shown here:
