How to query on Funds that all begin with the same word? For Global Change to de-activate

Options
I want to do a static query of a group of funds that all begin with the same name (think, FOCUS - something.)  There's no option in query for Fund Descriptions Begins With that I can find - only Equals, Does Not Equal, etc.

I have dozens of these to inactivate and doing them one at a time is not a pleasant prospect.  Thanks!

Is "contains" an option? You could use that in your query criteria unless their are other funds that contain FOCUS in a spot other than the beginning.

  • Ditto what Alan said. Do Fund Description "one of" , click the binoculars to open the search box, put "Focus" (or whatever the first word in the fund is) in the search field, highlight the ones you want and click the double arrow to move them to the "Include these Funds" box.
  • Thanks, Alan!  I didn't know you could select multiple items using One Of.    Michelle, "Contains" is not an option but it SHOULD be!

  • This is exactly why we insisted on keeping our Fund ID numbers during conversion. I agree also with the "one of" option as well. It would be nice if RE added a few more query options like you said, "begins with" "contains", "is not blank", alas that's not likely to happen any time soon.
