Return on Investment/Tracking Expenses in Raisers Edge

Does anyone record fundraising expenses in Raisers Edge? We use the goal amount to report against how our campaigns/appeals are doing and what we planned, but we're wanting to use RE to track return on investment, comparing our income to our expenses. Does anyone have input on the best way to do this?

  • Gloria, do you have a way to insert the appeal start date in the canned report? We are hosted and I don't know of a way to manipulate them in a hosted environment anymore.

    This is a very easy thing to do. RE does the work for you. We used to do our ROI's manually and I finally convinced my team to let the database do the work for us.


    If you go to the records area of RE and open the appeal for which you want to track ROI, you will see a tab for expenses. Just fill in the information, then run the Appeal Performance Analysis report or another appeal report you prefer. It can even drill down to ROI of packages if you add those details in your appeal.

    Hi- in the amount under expenses, do you enter the amount for one or for the whole appeal? ie- for postage would you enter the cost of a stamp or the entire amount of postage for the mailing?
