Multiple Registration Confusion

Options
Here's a great question from Candace Chesler about multiple registrations:

"I'm running into an issue with multiple registrations being created for one person when they select more tan once event registration type. In NetCommunity, I had events with multiple registration FEES that would appear on one registration record. It appears that in OLX I have to create multiple registration records for each fee that the participant chooses. Is that correct? It causes our event registration grid to be extremely messy."

  • Candace, we are right there with you! The only solution we've found is to re-group our registration levels. Rather than having one registration type for "Brunch" and another for "Cocktail Hour", we combine them into a registration type "Brunch and Cocktail Hour" and "Brunch Only". This allows each registrant to choose a single combination option, thus entering their data once.

It did require some logic-working for our alumni reunion, with 4 different pricing tiers, overnight stay, and spouse attendance fees, but we made it work in the end!

Tiffany - thanks for posting for me. I appreciate Faith's suggestion which I will keep in mind for future events. But - with our current Alumni Reunion with multiple pricing tiers, a dinner, a lunch and a Cubs Game - regrouping the registrations becomes way too long.

My once seamless integration between online event registrations and Raiser's Edge events is in a shambles. I'm seeing that the registration fees are indeed appearing on the participant record - but one person has different Participation Statuses depending on how many fees they chose.

I just created an Idea in the Idea Bank about this - Please Vote!
