Batching defaults

We have template batches we set up for all sorts of different kinds of gift batches. Here's how you can set up a system like ours:


1.) In the Batch module, click on the "organize categories" button 

2.) Click on "New Category"

3.) Create a new category called "Templates"

4.) Create a new batch in the Templates folder you just created and set it up exactly the way you want. You can adjust evertyhing from what columns are present, present and visible, default settings for each column, column widths, etc.

5.) Name this batch "Template - [Template Description]"

6.) Repeat steps 4 and 5 as many times as you need to set up all the templates you think are useful.


When we start a new batch, we first name the batch something unique in the Batch Header tab (we have a whole system for this as well), then we go to Fields and load the settings from the appropriate gift batch, and then we go to teh Defaults tab and dial in the particulars for that batch (for us, that's usually GL Post Date and Gift Date, but your needs are probably different than our needs).
