Gift Entry question Regarding BBMS, RE, & BBNC Grow

Good Afternoon All,


Our site has IATS, RE, and BBNC Grow but are hoping to transition our IATS to BBMS very soon and had questions regarding that service that we couldn't find handily in the KB, User Guides, or how-to sections. Please help.

 
  1. Is the EFT module required to use BBMS in RE or will it work like IATs does without the EFT?
  2. How do we batch or collate transactions taken with BBMS: Blackbaud MobilePay?
    1. Do these transactions come down through RE-BBNC Plugin?
    2. Or they listed in BBMS as a list of transactions that have to be manually entered into RE?

    Trying to answer as best I can....


    1. Is the EFT module required to use BBMS in RE or will it work like IATs does without the EFT?

    No the EFT module is not required to process CC donations through RE.

    We have it, so I just know it makes the processing of my pledges and recurring gifts easier to do without queries, etc. and since that can number over 600 at a time, I am very grateful for the module.


    2. How do we batch or collate transactions taken with BBMS: Blackbaud MobilePay?
    1. Do these transactions come down through RE-BBNC Plugin? No...well the last time we used it, it did not.
    2. Or they listed in BBMS as a list of transactions that have to be manually entered into RE? Yes...depending on how you set up your mobile pay, how much detail you collect, you may have more detail than a traditional BBMS report but still needs to be pulled in manually. If you have ImportOMatic you might be able to create an import profile or use the Import Module in RE to set up a guide for importing the data. It would really depend on how many transactions you anticipate using with Mobile Pay.

    Hi Julian!


    Joan was correct in her answers. EFT is not required for BBMS processing in RE. You can use the basic processing setting that comes with The Raiser's Edge by design. As for your MobilePay question, you do have to export the transactions from BBMS and then Import them using a Gift Import. I have included the steps to do this below, but feel free to reach out to the BBMS or Raiser's Edge support teams for more assistance if you need it.
