Does LO Advocacy have a Find Your Legislator tool?

I haven't been able to find anything in documentation but thought I recalled hearing about it when we decided to use LO.

    Hi Kim - You'll want to use the Find Representatives component as described in this help topic.


    Logged in constituents can automatically see their representatives as described in this help topic if you're interested in that as well.


    Just let me know if we can improve the documentation around this feature!

  • I can see where this is confusing! First of all this tool is available under "content/pagebuilder" as opposed to advocacy.


    Also there are two types of components in the product!


    The component being referenced for "Find Your Legislator" is one of a list of components available when initially setting up a pagebuilder page. I will paste a screenshot below.


    You might want to set up a pagebuilder page from scratch with just this one component and make it reusable so you can more easily insert it when you are within another pagebuilder page.



    There is also a "component" option inside the html editor for pages and emails that allows you to input advocacy content. This is where you would find the components used in the second example to add a personalized list of representatives. I have mistakenly gone there before looking for "Find Your Representative" only to remember that I need to insert a reusable find your rep page instead.

    You can add the following code to the "Plain Text Editor" of a WYSIWYG on a Pagebuilder page and it will add a Legislator Look-Up to that page:

    When you click on the "Find Your Legislator" button in the right sidebar on this page, http://support.adaptcommunitynetwork.org/action_center, it will take you to a Pagebuilder page with the code above on that page.

  • This is a sidenote for this tool. The images that display the users elected officials are not secure so if you try to use this on a secure page, the user will get a warning about insecure content.


    I've communicated with Blackbaud support about this and they do not intend to put the images behind an SSL.
