Infographic Emails

Has anyone ever created an email like this through NetCommunity? Wondering if it is possible, or if it's possible through another Blackbaud module or email system. I'd love to create something (obviously not coffee, but the general idea or statistics) specific to each donor.

  • Yes! We use canva.com
and create things like this all the time. You can save it as an
image, then just plop in the email! Easy!

  • Hmm, that's an interesting one, because I'm guessing you'd want the stats to pull from Raiser's Edge?

What I'd try is creating the background image that you want (minus the stats) in Photoshop, Canva, or whatever program you prefer.

Next create a new email, insert a table and make the image your Background Image for that table. To do this click Insert > Table > go to the Advanced tab > Background Image and choose your image file. This will make it so you can type on top of the image.

From there you can play with adding and removing columns/rows, adjusting widths & heights, etc. to line up your words and stats were you want them.

It may not scale to mobile, but that will take some testing. We did something similar with our Christmas mailout and it ended up working alright in the end. I hope this helps!

  • Thank you Lindsay! Do you by chance have a screenshot or would you be willing to email me the one you put together? I'd love to have an idea of how it was done. Thank you!

It's more of a basic email, as opposed to an infographic, but it's using the same idea of the table's background image. I imagine with some finagling with columns and rows you could get it to look pretty good with all of the stats you're using :)

  • Hi Allison & Lindsay,

I just wanted to pop in real quick with a word of caution - Background images aren't supported in all email providers. Make sure you test well so you know your users are getting the full visual you're sending out. Here's a great article & resources to help out: https://litmus.com/community/learning/25-understanding-background-images-in-email. It's an older article (2 yrs old I believe) but not much has changed with regards to background image support. The bulletproof background image code generator is a HUGE timesaver if you aren't great at coding or simply just hate doing it.

Hope this helps & great ideas!

  • Thank you for the link, Rebecca! The coding can be a real pain, especially since BBNC tends to be rather finicky... I'll definitely check it out. yes
  • This was so helpful!
  • Thank you all so much for your input.
