Gift Date Discrepancy

Could someone please provide the best practice for assigning a gift date? We use Blackbaud Merchant Services to process our Luminate Online gifts. We have a few gifts that are dated 12/24/16 in LO and 12/25/16 in BBMS. The gifts came in just after midnight EST according to BBMS and my guess is that LO is set to CST. I'm downloading gifts to Raiser's Edge and at the same time reconciling with BBMS and am just not sure the best way to move foward. We may also have a few like this for December 31/January 1, but I haven't gotten that for in the process yet.

If anyone has a better process I would love to
hear it. Unfortunately we reconcile daily so that our Finance
department doesn’t have any problems.
