Can I reverse a Soft Credit?

Hi all


Does anyone know if it is possible to reverse a soft credit? I have put a gift onto an individual and soft credited it to their company. However, we have decided that it should be the other way around (ie the gift is on the company and soft credited to her). Is this possible or do I need to delete the gift and start again?

    If that is the only gift on the Individual record, you can merge the Constituent Records, select only Gifts, be sure the Delete option is not checked, and the Gift will move.  You will probably need to check/correct the Soft Credit Tab of the Gift, as it may be still showing the SC to the Org record.


    If there are other gifts on the Individual record, you'll need to re-enter the record and delete the original.  When I do this, I open the existing Gift, open a new Gift on the correct record, put them side-by-side on my monitor and compare as I enter to be sure I get everything copied over.  Including the Gift ID...just delete the original before saving the new or delete the Gift ID and save the original before saving the new with the same Gift ID (because RE won't allow duplicate IDs).


    I would bet you can find multiple Ideas in the RE:7 Idea Bank about this functionality...not sure it's possible, but can't hurt to go vote.
