Starting a New Pledge

Hi all,

I am being tasked with adding a new pledge for a constituent who will be giving $30k over 3 years. This is only my 4th month working in Raiser's Edge and I am a litle bit lost on how to add this in. Is it a setting once you add the gift or does it need to be added before the gift is entered?

Kevin,

When you enter the gift type of pledge, the schedule box will appear. You click that to schedule your payments. Can be single gift, annual for X years, Monthly etc., etc.. In batch gift entry when on that record there is an icon at the top of the batch for scheduling gifts.

If your organization has a Blackbaud training subscription, start taking the Fundamentals classes (6 in total, Gifts I is class #3). If you don't have a subscription, check out the on-demand videos, one of which is on Gifts...I think Learn Basics is free to all BB customers. Anything revolving around Gifts should include at least a mention of Pledges.

Check out this link (and bookmark it!) for a listing of the videos & classes currently available...click thru to the BB University system right from this pdf page, although you need to sign in with your Blackbaud.com username and password (you'll get credit for the classes on your transcript there...some classes have prerequisites).

Hi Kevin,

I agree with all below! I would also recommend that you set up corresponding reminders each year so that you send a pledge reminder to the donor proactively! Always nice to know when they prefer to pay & to have that touchpoint programmed in so it isn't missed!
